Approximately 80 000 cubic metres of concrete, 9500 tons of reinforcing steel and 9000 tons of structural steel was constructed. This, in combination with fine architecture and efficient engineering, resulted in Soccer City becoming one of the most striking, impressive and well-equipped stadiums in the world.
